Post Game 6/15/10 Mets 7 - Cleveland 6

The Mets picked up their fourth straight road win, their fifth straight win overall, and their ninth out of ten in an impressive come from behind victory.

They got it started early in this one with some good old-fashioned Reyes baseball. Jose walked to lead off the game, stole second, and was then moved over to third on a ground out to second base by Pagan. Wright then drove Reyes in with an infield single to the shortstop on a ground ball hit deep into the hole.

The Indians would get that run right back in the bottom of the second on Travis Hafner's home run, his fifth career homer against Santana. Santana would later give up a single with the bases loaded to drive in two and put the Indians up 3-1.

In the bottom of the fourth, Peralta walked with one out and appeared to be caught stealing second only to be awarded the base on a balk instead. Two batters later, Jason Donald singled in Peralta to make it 4-1.

The Mets would come right back in a big way in the top of the fifth. Francoeur lead it off with a single to left, followed by a magnificent bunt by Cora and Cleveland's failure to cover first . That put runners on first and second with no outs and Reyes at the plate, who then put down a bunt of his own, allowing Francoeur to score, Cora to move to third and Reyes to second after Masterson threw the ball away trying to get Reyes at first. After a ground out by Pagan, Wright came up and hit his second infield single to shortstop, scoring Cora and eventually Reyes, who did what Reyes does and scored on the throw to first. Big Ike would follow with his eighth home run, a two run shot to dead center to put the Mets up 6-4. I just can't help but get overly excited at the potential of this kid. You're destined for big things Mr. Davis.

In the top of the 7th, the Mets extended their lead by a run after more sloppy play by Cleveland. Jason Donald made his second error on a ground ball up the middle by Pagan. After a single by Wright, Masterson walked Ike and then Bay followed it up with an RBI fielder's choice to third baseman before The Animal ended the inning with a deep fly ball to right center that was caught at the wall.

In his first appearance as the official 8th inning guy, Feliciano did well. He did walk the leadoff guy, (remember what I was saying earlier about letting the first batter he faces to reach base?) but Feliciano, or perhaps K-Rod Jr. is more appropriate, struck out Hafner and then induced the double play to end the inning.

Speaking of K-Rod, he had his own issues tonight. After allowing the leadoff hitter to reach base, he promptly retired the next two hitters before allowing a two-run shot to left by the pinch hitting Shelley Duncan. In typical K-Rod fashion, he got the next batter out on a fly ball to left to end the game.

Great job boys, now let's keep it rolling.
