Look hard enough and everyday you can find a new quote, new angle, new story, etc. that can bring about a new perspective. Today, that little bit for me came from an article in the Star-Ledger written by Andy McCullough.
“If I would have thrown a fastball right down the middle
and somebody would have hit it out?” K-Rod postulated then.
“‘Oh, why didn’t he throw the breaking pitch?’ Regardless of
what you do, they always want to find the negative side for
everything.” -Francisco Rodriguez
K-Rod makes an interesting point here and touches on something I've always given a good amount of thought to. Are Mets fans programmed to see the glass as half empty? In a word, yes. However, it's not quite that simple Mr. Rodriguez. You have to do your homework a little bit. In '07 we saw the Mets suffer the worst regular season collapse ever. In '08, we saw them choke again. Last season, you guys just flat out sucked. The answer? Win. Win and you'll make believers out of us all K-Rod.
