John Maine took the hill for his first rehab start with the Binghamton Mets today and had a magnificent go of it. Maine gave a solid four inning effort, giving up only one hit and two walks while striking out five and letting up no runs. Definitely an encouraging start for Maine and a good sign of things to come. Hopefully this means Maine will be back and contributing to the major league rotation shortly. The way the Mets staff is going though, I'm not sure they even need him right now. No word yet as toward why he went only four innings, but my guess is that it was just a precautionary measure. We'll bring you an update as soon as we get final word.
